Ebonyi Chief Judge grants freedom to 38 inmates

The Chief Judge of Ebonyi State, Justice Alloy Nwankwo released a total of 38 inmates of Abakaliki and Afikpo prisons in different categories.

The Controller of Prison, Ebonyi State Command, Adobi Emelia Oputa confirmed this on Tuesday
Oputa said the “release was done today 25th July 2017 during the goal delivery carried out by the Chief Judge for the purpose of decongesting the prisons”.

She listed the inmates freed to include:

Discharge                   16
Self-recognizance        9
Bail with conditions 13
Total                         38

She also advised all the discharged inmates to be of good behavior and avoid all acts that may lead to their coming back to the prison.
