Do not compromise national security- Minister

The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, has called on newly graduated 99 officers of the Nigerian Air Force {NAF} under the category of Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) from its Ground Training hence told the cadets not to allow themselves to be used by disgruntled elements in the society to compromise national security and national interest or to act in a manner capable of denting the image of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The graduating cadets were commissioned into the NAF after 24 weeks of intensive military training with two of them who are medical consultants decorated as Squadron Leaders while the rest were commissioned as Flying Officers.
The Minister who was the reviewing officer at the Passing Out Parade urged the graduating cadets to bear in mind that the military profession requires absolute discipline, loyalty, perseverance and sacrifice especially at this crucial point of the nation’s history.
Speaking further, Mansur expressed his gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari who in spite of the dwindling national resources, continues to give priority to operational requirements and welfare of the NAF personnel and other Services.
He assured the President of the unalloyed loyalty and total commitment of the Armed Forces.
On his part, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar told newsmen at the Passing Out ceremony that the NAF would continue to enlist fresh qualified Nigerians and build the capacity of its personnel in order to meet the set national security objectives.
The Cadet were later conferred with the Presidential Commission and handed the Parchment of commission by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin. Awards were also presented to deserving Cadets who distinguished themselves in the course of the training.
