Another tragedy has struct Borno State following the accidental airstrike by Nigerian military on one of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Borno State, killing many and injuring several others in the process.
The tragic event , which occured Tuesday morning, coming barely 24 hours after several were killed in the twin blasts at the University of Maiduguri by Boko Haram terrorists suicide bombers
The Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Lucky Irabor, who confirmed the incident to journalists in Maiduguri, said that the military conducted airstrike on a location where Boko Haram were reported to have gathered.

Irabor also disclosed that among the injured are two humanitarian workers from the International Committee on Red Cross (ICRC) and Medicine Sans Frontiers (MSF) as well as two soldiers.
He however, assured that the military has already sent helicopter to evacuate the wounded persons.
He said: “We got information that Boko Haram terrorists were gathering somewhere in Kala Balge Local Government. We coordinate our air component and strike the location but somehow, some civilians were killed.
“Also, some civilians and two humanitarian workers from the International Committee on Red Cross (ICRC) and Medicine Sans Frontiers (MSF) were wounded in the incident which he described as disturbing. Two of our soldiers were also wounded”.
The theatre commander could not comment on whether or not the incident was a tactical error by the military.
He attributed it to the cost of war, urging the people to work together to ensure peace return to the troubled northeast States.
Irabor also assuess that the military will investigate the cause of the problem.
