The efforts by the Federal Government and security agencies to tackle the large number of of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SAWL) in circulation and fueling crises in the country is yielding result with surrender of weapons by armed bandits in Zamfara.

The disarmament move was witnessed on Saturday by the Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari and Minister of Defence, Muhammad Mansur Dan-Ali .

The exercise was supervised by the Commanding Officer, 1Brigads Nigerian Army, Col. Oba Aminu.
