The Senator representing Abia North at the Senate, Mao Ohuabunwa has asked the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami to write the Federal Government on obeying the court granting bail to the former National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki and the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu.
Ohuabunwa made the submission while reacting to the Letter written by the Malami to the Senate that the matter relating to the Customs boss appearing in uniform is now in court and hence, the Controller General of the Nigeria Customs Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd) could not appear before the Senate until the court makes a pronouncement.
The Senator said since the AGF can now write to the Senate concerning matter that is already in the court, he should the Senate should also advise him to write to the Federal Government to obey court order granting bail to National Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki and the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu.
Although the Senate rejected his submission but the Senate minority leader Senator Godswill Akpabio relying on the Senate standing rule asked Ohuabunwa not to go outside the issue been discussed. He urged him to come with a separate motion on the new issue he just raised.
