The President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari has written to the British Prime Minister, Theresa May, commending the country for its support in the ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations against Boko Haram terrorists.

Buhari in the formal letter made available to journalists by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity,  Femi Adesina, the ‎British government assistance helped in flushing “Boko Haram out of their hide-out base and severely degraded their capacity to mount a serious attack on Nigerian assets.”
He also expressed Nigeria’s appreciation  “for the very effective materials and logistical support to Nigeria” in the fight against Boko Haram.

The President told May that in spite of “isolated attacks against soft targets,” the British assistance contributed to a large extent in degrading the terrorist sect.‎

Buhari who wroted the letter “on behalf of the people of Nigeria”  expressed ” heartfelt condolences to the injured and families of the dead” in Wednesday’s terrorist attack in London.

According to him, the horrid incident “underscores the threat we all live under,” adding that, “terrorism has no borders and no season”.
