The suspected Boko Haram terrorists has invaded Konduga Local Government Area (LGA) in Borno State, kidnapping 10 persons, mostly women and youths.
The was confirmed by Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Borno, Mr. Ibrahim Abdullahi.
Abdullahi said the terrorists on Tuesday, kidnapped four women and six youths from the symbolic town close to Maiduguri.
According to him, the insurgents entered the community in motorcycles and kidnapped the individuals.
The NSCDC commandant also warned that the terrorist employed a similar tactics in attacking three villages in the community.
He said: “Our intelligence report had indicated that the insurgents are now operating in Dalla Fatimiri on about 10 motorcycles.
“Our men of Anti-vandalism and Intelligence Unit of the Command on Friday reported the kidnapping of four youths in Kalari village in Konduga Local Government Area.
“This is a clarion call to Nigerians to be on the alert at all times and always report any suspicious activities around them to the security agencies.”
About 100,000 people have been killed since the start of the Boko Haram insurgency in 2009.
Most of the attacks happened in three north-eastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.
The sect also carried out attacks in neighboring countries like Cameroon, Chad, and Niger.
The Nigerian security forces and regional forces from Cameroon, Chad, and Niger have made important progress in pushing the sect out of the towns and villages of northeast Nigeria and the broader Lake Chad Basin region.
So far, the sect has been dislodged from their major stronghold in Sambisa, with members fleeing in different directions
