•He was not arrested-Aide
The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly quizzed the owner of Capital Oil, Ifeanyi Uba.
The business mogul was said to have been arrestes and questioned by Nigerian Secret Police on Thursday morning.
But one of the aide while responding to inquiries by Global Sentinel, debunked alleged arrest of his boss.
“I spoke with him this morning and not quite long ago, so disregard that rumour. He is very much around,” the senior aide said.
The reason for Ubah’s alleged arrest by the DSS is not yet known but sources cited the fraud saga with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
He was alleged to have embezzled from an illegal sale of crude oil saved in his facility.
“You know he has this case with the NNPC, which was not entirely his fault and both parties have decided to resolve it out of court,” his aide said.
Meanwhile, some sources have claimed that the soccer-loving owner of Ifeanyi FC might have been invited for questioning by the DSS and allowed to go after making a statement.
There is no official statement yet from the DSS .
