Boko Haram opens fire at travellers in Borno

Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists has opened fire at private and commercial vehicles along the Maiduguri-Damboa road in Borno State.

The attack took place on Sunday.

“Vehicles going to southern part of the state from Maiduguri, the capital, usually escorted by the security personnel, assembled at Molai on the outskirts of the city where they were attacked,” a report said.

The paper said it learnt that shortly before taking off, some gunmen suddenly appeared and shot sporadically, killing scores and injuring many.

Security agencies are yet to comment on the attack.
