Over 75 GOCs, Army commanders hold strategy meeting in Kaduna

The Commanding officers of the Nigerian Army will hold a five-day meeting in Kaduna to strategise on more efficient and functional ways of handling personnel and resources in peace time and war.

The Deputy Director of Army Public Relations (DDAPR), 1 Division, Nigeria Army, Kaduna,  Col. Kingsley Umoh, at the weekend stated that the Chief of Army Staff and Principal Staff Officers from the Army Headquarters would attend the event.

Umoh said that the Commanding Officers’ Workshop was the second to be held after the maiden edition which took place in Maiduguri from March 13-17, this year. He said the latest workshop would run from July 10-14.

According to him, more 75 General Officer Comnanding (GOC) and commanding officers drawn from formations and units of the Nigerian Army are expected at the workshop.

Umoh explained that the workshop was aimed at improving knowledge and capacity of the commanding officers in effective administration of resources at all times.

He added that the participants would share experiences and ideas with their peers and superiors that would guide them in the effective discharge of their responsibilities.
