The Nigerian Army on Thursday July 13, 2017, attained another historic milestone as the youngest Division, the 6 Division Nigerian Army was formally consecrated and launched into operations by the Minister of Defence, Mansur Mohammed Dan-Ali, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in a very colourful and well attended ceremony.
The sequence of which include the Unveiling of New HQ 6 Div. Gate, Commissioning of New 6 Div. Quarter Guard, Unveiling of 6 Div. Monument, Consecration of 6 Div. Headquarters Complex and Flagging Off of 6 Div. Operational Activities as follows:
- 6 Div. Anti- Bunkering Squad
- 6 Div. Anti- Kidnapping Squad
- 6 Div. Strike Force
- 6 Div. Operation Check-Mate
- Multi Agency Show of Force/Solidarity Patrol.
Other activities include Commissioning of 20-Apartment Officers’ Transit Accommodation
Commissioning of Rehabilitated 6 Div. Parade Ground:
The dignitaries at the commissioning of 6 Div. Nigerian Army include: Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike; Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel; Minister of Defence, Mansur Muhammad Dan-Ali; and Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, amongst others.
