Nigerian troops neutralise terrorists in Yobe State

The troops 8 Task Force Division Nigerian Amy have for the second time in four days, denied Boko Haram terrorists room to conduct their nefarious activities within their Area of Responsibility (AOR) in parts of the North East.


The Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Timothy Antigha, on Tuesday said the gallant troops of 158 Task Force Battalion on fighting patrol to Futchimiram village in Geidam Local Government Area (LGA) of Yobe State struck and neutralized two out of five Boko Haram terrorists.


Antigha said the surviving terrorists fled into nearby bushes.


“Equipment recovered includes an AK 47 riffle, 2 magazines, 36 rounds of 7.26 millimeters ammunition, grenade and 2 Motorcycles. Other items include desert camouflage uniform, 2 mobile phones, motorcycle spare parts, dry cell batteries, 2 pairs of sandals and N6000 cash,” He stated.


In a related development, Antigha said the troops of 159 Task Force Battalion have apprehended notorious Boko Haram terrorists, Mr. Abbas Abubakar.


He said that Abubakar is noted for levying terror on Kangarwa, Mallam Fatori and adjourning localities.
