President Muhammadu Buhari has in line with an earlier directive by the Senate on Wednesday, ordered the reinstatement of the security aides of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State.

Obiano while welcoming Buhari on arrival in Awka for the Grand Finale of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Rally, complained about the withdrawal of his security aides.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Ibrahim Idris had withdrawn the governor’s ADC as well as policemen attached to all political office holders in the state ahead of Saturday’s governorship election saying he feared they may be used to rig or influence the outcome of the vote.

However, a presidency statement said before departing Awka, President Buhari directed the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations), Joshak Habila to ensure the return of the governor’s security personnel.
