Slave trade: Another batch of 394 Nigerians evacuated from Libya

The concerted efforts to evacuate Nigerians trapped in slave camps in Libya is yielding result with almost 400 of the migrants returned safely back to the country.

A source within the National Commmission for Refugees informed Global Sentinel about the return of 144 Nigerians from Libya on Tuesday evening at 6.45 pm.

The source said that another aircraft is being expected with about another 250 in the early hours of tomorrow morning, making it the largest number of Nigerians returning.

“At the airport today to receive the returnees were the SSA to the President on Diaspora matters Hon Abike Dabiri and the wife of the Lagos State Governor Mrs Bolanle Ambode,” the source stated.
