Giving his opening remark, Major General Chris Olukoyode (rtd) former Defence Spokesman, who is also a Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, gave the advice at the Thanksgiving and Dedication Service of Olaedo and Olamma, twin daughters of Senator Iroegbu, Defence Correspondent of Thisday Newspapers.
Olukolode who chaired the ceremony which took place in Abuja Sunday, said parents had an obligation to bring up God-fearing children who will grow up to become responsible citizens.
In his testimony, Senator Iroegbu who besides celebrating the arrival of his twin daughters was also celebrating his survival from the Boko Haram attack on the Abuja offices of Thisday in 2012, said that his family waited eight years for the birth of the girls.
He chronicled the challenges he and his wife went through and called on couples to always be patient in times of family troubles and believe and trust in God.
Iroegbu regretted that wowen were not fully appreciated for the pains they go through in the process of childbirth promising he was going to institute an annual event that will focus on maternal health.
The event which was grace by loved ones, families, partners, associates and dignitaries from far and near has a lot to take home with as parents have been advised to raise their children in a Godly manner.
