MNJTF troops kill 15 Boko Haram fighters, recover arms

The troops of 7 Brigade, Sector 3 of Multinational Joint Task Force(MNJTF) have killed 15 Boko Haram terrorists during an encounter at Arege, Borno State.

The Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Brig-Gen. Texas Chukwu, in a statement on Monday, said several of the terrorists escaped with gunshot wounds.

“15 of the Boko Haram terrorists were neutralised during the encounter while some fled into the bush with gunshot wounds,” Chukwu stated.

He said efforts are being intensified by the troops to arrest the fleeing members of the Boko Haram suspects.

He listed items recovered to include: one Anti Aircraft Gun, five AK 47 rifles, and one Light Machine Gun.

Unfortunately, he said, one soldier was injured and is currently receiving attention at the military medical facility.

The DAPR urged members of the general public to report any suspicious activities to the law enforcement agents for prompt action.
