The Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP), Edgal Imohimi on Tuesday said he was still in charge of the Lagos State Police command.
Global Sentinel had reported the redeployment of Edgal Imohimi to the Force Headquarters as the state commissioner of police in charge of Explosive Ordinance Unit while Kayode Egbetokun was to replace him in acting capacity.
Imohimi while briefing journalist in his office at Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja, said, ‘’No change of guard, the Status quo remains.
“we were about concluding the handing and taking over procedure when we were instructed by our bosses from Abuja to suspend action for now, action has been suspended.
“I received calls from high authority in Abuja that the status quo should remain.
“So, there will be no change of guard for now. I remain the Commissioner of Police, Of course, we would keep the Press briefed about any further development.
Egbetokun who was in acting capacity was earlier expected to take over from Imohimi had come for official handing over ceremony when Imohimi broke the news that his posting has been reversed.
