A Kano State High Court has released Deji Adeyanju on bail after spending 67 days in custody.
Adeyanju was arrested on December 13 over allegations he was involved in a murder in Kano in 2005.
Former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode confirmed that the activist was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 and two sureties.
The court also ordered him to deposit his international passport.
Fani- Kayode on his Twitter page wrote: “Great news that Adeyanju Deji has been granted bail after spending over 60 days in a Kano prison simply because he spoke truth to power. We give thanks to God. I am so proud of this deeply courageous and inspiring young man. Head bloodied but not bowed!
