War against Terror: Nigerian Army to boost operations against Boko Haram, ISWAP with more equipment–Buratai

The Nigerian Army has announced plans to induct more equipment into the theatre of operations to strengthen the fight against terrorism.

Nigerian troops are battling Boko Haram terrorists and Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP) in parts of the North East and Lake Chad Basin contiguous borders with Chad, Cameroon and Niger Republic.

This was disclosed by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai,  during his visit to troops of Forward Operation Base at Buratai, Borno State on Tuesday.

Buratai in  a statement on Wednesday by the Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Col. Sagir Musa, assured the troops that more equipment will be inducted into the mission areas to boost their efforts in the war against terrorism and other assorted insecurities in Nigeria

He also assured the troops of his total commitment to their welfare and that of their families.

While interacting with the soldiers, the Army Chief urged them to remain focused and committed to bringing terrorism to an end.

He charged them to strictly adhere to the extant Rules of Engagement and Code of Conduct which guide their activities while on internal Security duty.
