The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has strongly condemned any case of rape irrespective of the person involved.

The Christian Body said this while reacting to the alleged rape against Pastor Tolu Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).

The Wife of popular musician Timi Dakolo,Busola Dakolo, a photographer had  accused Fatoyinbo of raping her on two separate occasions.

The CAN in a statement Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, Special Assistant (Media & Communications) to the CAN President, Rev. Samson Ayokunle described rape as ungodly, wicked, and reprehensible.

Oladeji however said the CAN dies not have enough credible evidence to draw it’s conclusion from, but will get to the root of the matter.

The statement read in part, “on the allegations against Pastor Tolu Fatoyinbo, we have no details about the matter other than what we are reading and hearing from from the social media, this is not reliable and credible evidence enough to jump into a conclusion.

“The CAN Leadership, therefore, has reached out to the leadership of the block which the Pastor in question belongs with a view to getting to the root of the matter. This will help us to make the right decision on the issue.”
