The National Management Committee (NMC) of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) has dismissed the resignation of Isaac Udeh, self acclaimed member of the Party, insisting that he does not belong to the party, and cannot resign from a party he does not belong to.
Udeh, had announced his resignation in a letter dated 23rd July, 2025 titled “resignation of my membership from National Rescue Movement.”
The NRM, in a statement signed by S. M. Oyeghe, Deputy National Legal Adviser said, “We wish to state clearly that the said Mr. Isaac Udeh is not a member of NRM, nor the National Chairman, having been validly suspended from the Party since 19th September, 2024.
“Again, the NMC of the Party equally passed a Vote of No Confidence on the said Mr. Isaac Udeh, since 24th September, 2024.”
The party also clarified that at the National Executive Council meeting of 27th January, 2025, his suspension was ratified.
“Furthermore, at the recent Emergency National Convention of the NRM, of 14th April, 2025, Udeh was expelled from the Party due to anti-party activities, disregard for the Party Constitution, financial malpractices among others.
“Hence, Mr. Udeh, ceases to be a member of the Party having been expelled from the Party, and cannot ‘resign’ from a Party he is not a member of”, the party added.
“Again, it is pertinent to note that the purported receiver of the said letter of resignation- Mr. Julius Nzere is not the Chairman of the Amafuo Ward. Interestingly, the said Mr. Udeh, who in several National Broadcasts and publication of 17th January, 2025 openly declared that he had stepped down as National Chairman, to accept the position of National Organizing Secretary, had stated in his purported resignation letter that he was “the National Chairman on 30th March 2022 till date”. The above further demonstrates the double standing in the person of Udeh, and confirmation of the charade and illegality of the 17th January, 2025 gathering, termed ‘Emergency National Convention’, which both the party and the Independent National Electoral Commission distanced itself from.
“In the light of the above, we implore all Party members and the general public to disregard the said letter of resignation, coming from Mr. Udeh, who is not a member of the Party”, the statement further read.
