Transcorp Hilton Abuja has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable community development, placing women’s empowerment at the heart of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and overall social impact strategy. Through structured partnerships and a results-driven approach, the hotel continues to implement empowerment initiatives that deliver measurable, long-term community impact.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr Martin Zarybnicky, General Manager of Transcorp Hilton Abuja, said that community empowerment is central to the hotel’s corporate identity and values.

“When communities thrive, businesses thrive. That belief guides everything we do at Transcorp Hilton Abuja,” he said.

Zarybnicky explained that the hotel’s focus on women’s empowerment is both deliberate and strategic, noting that empowering women generates far-reaching social and economic benefits.

“Empowering women creates a powerful ripple effect. It strengthens families and uplifts entire communities,” he added.

The empowerment programme trains four women every six months, equipping eight beneficiaries annually with practical vocational skills. Upon completion, each participant receives a new sewing machine and professional-grade tools, which they keep to support their journey toward economic independence. Sewing machines for the next training cycle, scheduled to commence in January, have already been procured.

Beyond skills acquisition, Transcorp Hilton Abuja maintains continuous post-training engagement with beneficiaries. Their progress is closely monitored, challenges are addressed, and opportunities are created to improve visibility, market access, and long-term growth.

According to Ms Ijeoma Osuji, Communication and Marketing Manager of Transcorp Hilton Abuja, the empowerment model is intentionally designed to generate impact beyond individual beneficiaries.

“When women are empowered, they reinvest in their families, children, and communities. That is why women’s empowerment remains a key pillar of our social impact strategy,” she said.

The initiative is implemented in partnership with ACE (Assisting Caring Empowerment) and supported by Each Charity, a long-standing partner for over 12 years, to ensure effective monitoring, accountability, and sustainability. Beneficiaries have also gained increased exposure through collaborations such as Fashion Afri, where they recently showcased their work at a major fashion event.

She also commended the provision of free transportation and praised their reading tutor, Mr George, for his patience, dedication, and encouragement.

With strong partnerships, sustained engagement, and a clearly defined empowerment policy, Transcorp Hilton Abuja continues to position itself as a corporate leader—leveraging business-driven initiatives to promote inclusive growth, economic resilience, and lasting community transformation.
