A fire outbreak on Monday morning disrupted activities at the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation located within the Federal Secretariat complex in Abuja, forcing workers to vacate parts of the building as emergency responders moved swiftly to contain the situation.
The incident, which occured Monday morning as staff set to start the day, was first noticed when thick smoke began rising from a section of the structure, triggering panic among staff members and visitors within the complex.
Employees hurried out of the building while security personnel and emergency teams coordinated efforts to secure the premises and prevent the fire from spreading to other sections.
Several workers were seen gathering outside the complex as firefighters and other emergency officials battled to bring the situation under control.
Officials from the media unit of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service later confirmed the development, stating that the fire was limited to a specific part of the building.
According to the office, the affected area was identified as Section C within the Federal Secretariat complex.

The spokesperson further assured workers and members of the public that response teams were already on ground and actively working to limit possible damage.
Authorities also confirmed that efforts were ongoing to fully secure the building and ensure the safety of employees within the secretariat.
