President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding infrastructure in rural communities, saying development under the Renewed Hope Agenda will reach every part of the country. Senate President Godswill Akpabio stated this while representing the President at the commissioning of the Gomani–Dafa–Yangoji Road in Dafa Village, Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Akpabio said the road would improve connectivity, reduce transportation costs, boost trade and create economic opportunities for residents. He said, “Development must reach every part of Nigeria, not just those at the centre and not just those in the city.”

He urged residents of Gomani, Dafa and Yangoji to protect the road, prevent encroachment on the right-of-way and safeguard the infrastructure from vandalism.

The Senate President commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for delivering quality infrastructure, saying effective supervision and timely execution had strengthened public confidence in government projects.

Earlier, Wike said the FCT Administration now consults traditional rulers, women, youths and community leaders before selecting projects, ensuring that development reflects the needs of the people.
The minister disclosed that the Gomani–Dafa–Yangoji Road, awarded in November 2025, was completed in less than 12 months by CGC Zeberced construction Limited, describing the contractor as reliable and efficient.
According to Wike, “Our policy is clear: development must benefit all our people,” adding that infrastructure projects would continue across all Area Councils in the FCT.
He also urged residents to protect public infrastructure, assuring them that the administration would continue to deliver projects that improve lives and support economic growth.
Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, FCT Head of Service Nancy Nathan described the project as another milestone under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Nathan thanked President Tinubu, the National Assembly, Wike, the contractor and host communities for supporting the project, urging residents to preserve the road to ensure lasting economic and social benefits.
