…Nigerians express dissatisfaction, rage

The announcement of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the presidnet-elect in the the just concluded presidential elections has been greeted with disappointment, excitement, pain and anger from Nigerians.
To some Nigerians, he is the best candidate to steer the affairs of Nigeria for sustainable development, to others he is only a greedy candidate who rigged the process to fulfil his selfish desire and does not have the capacity especially healthwise to rule the country.
Meanwhile, some others don’t believe Tinubu has won yet and are hopeful that their candidates will emerge winner after all concerns raised are addressed or through the intervention of the judiciary.
John Ayim, a resident in the Abuja Municipal while expressing strong disapproval over the emergence of Tinubu expressed covers that Tinubu will only a president to selected parts of the country and cannot unite Nigeria. He added that Tinubu is also not physically fit to rule the country.
“Away from the emotional analysis, I feel his victory would further increase the division in the country, and I know him being a very vindictive man would not play the role of President of all Nigerians. Secondly, Would the President be in charge of affairs? This question cannot be answered by anyone yet, nothing points to the fact that he will be, judging by his age and physical interactions during the campaigns. I wish him well, I pray he succeeds,” John said.
In the same vein, Shadrach Olawale, and a Abuja-based account opine that Tinubu does not reflect the true will of the people, based on the percentage of citizens who voted him especially in his assumed strong-holds.
“Shame on Tinubu. He lost osun his father’s land, lost Lagos his mother’s land , lost Abuja by over 80 percent.
Is it not obvious Nigerians don’t want him?? They ask us to go to court?
The same apex court the president publicly disobeyed? You have people desperate for power,” he cried.
However, another Nigerian, Princess believes that Buhari is the best man for the job. She said, “Against all odds I have always wanted the tinubu to lead because of his fore sightedness, he’s someone who sees potential and work for it. If he won’t be thwarted by the cabals he’s going to improve on infrastructures and man power development and Nigerians should stop spelling doom because their preferred candidates didn’t win if it’s worse then we all are in for it. Let’s work together to build the country of our dream.”
Abdulahi Adebayo said Tinubu’s victory did not come to him as a surprise due to his age-long experience in Nigeria’s politics. “What truly amazed me is the total 6.1m votes pulled by the presidential candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi with winnings in 11 states of the federation including Lagos and the FCT, amounting to about 25 percent of the total accredited votes as against the 36.25 percent of the total accredited votes with winning in 12 states by the APC.”
“I will only urge Mr. Tinubu to embrace a unified and peaceful coexistence approach in leading Nigeria, prioritize accountability through ensuring the enactment and passage of an Audit legal framework to strengthen Nigeria supreme audit institution, intentionality in fighting corruption and prioritize development ” he urged.
David Ibidapo, head, market data and research, AFEX said the outlook for the agricultural sector is positive as Tinubu’s win be a continued attention and interest to the agricultural space and fixing the bottlenecks in the agricultural space which had been priority for the government since 2015.
“For us we think it will be positive for the agricultural sector and we are hoping to see policies that positively impact crop production and other activities in the sector,” he said.
He added that other expectations include new cooperation between the private sector and the public sector in fostering the growth and development of the sector and the economy in general.
Muda Yusuf, Chief Executive Officer, Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE) said that improvements are expected in the manufacturing sector with Tinubu’s win seeing that he has a reputation for putting together a good economic team.
“However to drive this improvement, we need from him important reforms that should be implemented soon and policies that will all sustainable investments in the country,” he said.
Oyeyemi Kosoko, a Nigerian Youth said with Tinubu’s win, Nigeria is about to witness corruption on steroids, as the president-elect understands patronage politics and will throw money and political positions at everything while the rest of Nigeria is about to understand Propaganda and gaslighting on steroids.
“He will use corruption to kill the opposition, we are going to see him put food in lot of mouths not to sate hunger but to keep them quiet, there are Interesting days ahead,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gft Wada an Abuja-based blogger that it is not yet victory, saying “there are unresolved issues concerning the process and conduct of the election, until those concerns are addressed, we can’t legitimately call him the winner.”
“We don’t trust INEC because they made a promise with the BVAS which gave us hope for a credible election but with all that transpired , we suspect fraudulent and compromise from INEC hence they lost their integrity in our sight,” she added.
Still expressing their dissatisfaction, a taxi driver at the lugbe district of Abuja who identified himself as Olawole said that the announcement dashed his hope of better Nigerian, stating that he voted for the first time on Saturday.
For him, “I suspected that something was going to go wrong with this election result because it took too long to be finalised. How many days do we have to wait after election.
“The truth is I am not happy with this result, see how Nigeria is in this Buhari’s administration, wat we need now is a strong and vibrant leader that can do the work.
“All these poor leadership, its the common Nigerian that suffers at the end. God will help us.”
Sitting in front of her shop, a fruit seller lament the new president-elect.
In her words, “are we expecting another 8 years of suffering?, this is not good. What good can this old man do to Nigeria. This is not the candidate I voted for oh, in my polling unit, APC didn’t get up to 5 votes. How did they emerge the winner.
