The Acting Director, Chaplain Services (Protestant), Nigerian Army, Colonel (Rev.) Bitrus Nyam, has called on troops of Operation Hadin Kai to remain spiritually grounded as they continue operations in the North-East.
Nyam made the call on Monday during a visit to the Theatre Command Headquarters at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri.
He said the visit was aimed at supporting the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of troops, especially those on the frontlines.
According to him, activities marking the Easter period will include prayers, counselling and Holy Communion across operational areas.
Nyam noted that faith plays a vital role in boosting morale, resilience and courage in military engagements.
He assured troops of continued prayers and support, while urging chaplains to engage more with personnel in operational locations.
In his remarks, Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, described the visit as timely.
He said spiritual guidance is key to addressing indiscipline and other challenges that could affect operational performance.
