The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the death of its Assistant Publicity Secretary, Karamo Yesiro, describing the development as a painful loss to the ruling party shortly after he was re-elected at its state congress.

Yesiro died barely 24 hours after party delegates renewed his mandate during the APC state congress held at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan, Lagos, where he was returned to the State Executive Council.

The party confirmed the development in a statement issued by the Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, who said the late party official passed away at a time when his service and dedication were most needed.

Oladejo said the party received the news of his death with deep sorrow, noting that Yesiro remained committed to the ideals and progressive vision of the party until his passing.

According to him, “Yesiro’s passing is a painful and tragic loss to our great party at a time when his energy, commitment, and passion for progressive politics were most needed.”

He explained that the deceased had just been given another opportunity to serve the party following his re-election into the Lagos APC State Executive Council during the congress.

“Having just been entrusted with the responsibility of serving in the State Executive Council, he embodied dedication, loyalty, and an unwavering belief in the ideals of our party,” Oladejo stated.

The party spokesman said Yesiro was widely regarded among party members as a committed grassroots mobiliser whose humility and readiness to serve left a lasting impression on colleagues and supporters.

“Though his tenure was tragically cut short, his enthusiasm, humility, and readiness to serve left a lasting impression on colleagues and members alike,” the statement said.

Oladejo added that the Lagos APC leadership would remember the late official for his role in strengthening the party structure and supporting its growth across the state.

He said the party leadership and members have extended condolences to his family, political associates and supporters, stressing that “the Lagos APC stands united in mourning this painful departure” while praying that God grants his soul eternal rest.
