The Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Aneke, has urged the Nigerian Air Force to strengthen civil-military relations to improve operational effectiveness.
He spoke on Tuesday at the Civil-Military Relations Conference 2026 held at NAF Headquarters in Abuja.
Aneke said modern military success depends not only on firepower but also on trust, cooperation and accountability with civilians.
He noted that the Air Force has expanded community engagement, communication channels and feedback systems to improve its operations.
The Air Chief also cited compensation paid to victims of an accidental airstrike in Sokoto as part of efforts to promote accountability.
He called for better integration of intelligence, communication and community engagement in military planning.
Earlier, Chief of Civil-Military Relations, Edward Gabkwet, said the branch has recorded progress in policy development, training and civilian harm response.
The conference featured lectures, panel discussions and strategy sessions aimed at strengthening civil-military cooperation in the Air Force.
