The Nigerian Army has launched a strategic conference aimed at strengthening logistics and supply support for operations across all missions. The event started on March 24, 2026, at the Muhammadu Buhari Auditorium, under the theme, “Optimising ST Capabilities Towards Providing Effective Service Delivery to Nigerian Army Operations in All Missions.”

Major General Nansak Danjuma Shagaya, Commander of the Corps, said the conference provides a platform for senior officers to reflect, learn, and solve challenges together. He emphasized that modern warfare requires a “responsive and resilient logistics system” to sustain military operations.

“Operational success depends not only on combat strength but also on the efficiency and reliability of our support systems,” Shagaya said. “We must innovate and address institutional challenges to ensure every mission is backed by robust logistics.”

Major General Adebayo Olatunde Adegbite, Commandant of NASST, described the conference as an opportunity for direct interaction between Corps leadership, field commanders, and senior officers. He stressed that aligning logistics strategies with the Army’s overall mission is key to operational effectiveness.

Adegbite added that the forum will encourage knowledge sharing and practical discussions to improve service delivery, while fostering professional growth among participants.

Key activities lined up include the commissioning of a new Soldiers’ Dining Hall, the unveiling of a remodeled Driving Simulation Centre, and the inauguration of Col I Taiwo Crescent, all aimed at boosting training and operational readiness.

The conference will wrap up on March 26 with a Pulling-Out Ceremony and Gala Night honouring retired generals of the Corps, celebrating their contributions to Nigeria’s military logistics system.

The event highlights the Nigerian Army’s commitment to modernising its logistics capabilities, ensuring that troops have the support they need to meet evolving security challenges across the country.
