Following the recent violent attack in Plateau state and Kaduna, the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the heinous act, vowing that perpetrators will be brought to justice.
The attacks, which targeted residents in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, and wedding guests in Kahir village, Kagarko LGA, have drawn national outrage.
In a statement by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu described the assaults as “heartless and cowardly acts against Nigeria’s core values.”
“These criminals strike under the cover of darkness, aiming not only to harm but to provoke cycles of revenge,” Tinubu said.
He stressed that such acts cannot be tolerated and assured Nigerians of decisive action.
The President directed security agencies to intensify operations against both the attackers and individuals spreading false information that could inflame tensions.
He also cautioned some media outlets against framing the attacks as religiously motivated.
Tinubu further called on communities to follow evacuation and safety instructions, emphasising public cooperation as essential to protecting lives.
He commended Governors Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau and Uba Sani of Kaduna for their leadership during these crises, promising“Our government is equipping security agencies with advanced tools to track and dismantle criminal networks in real time.”
