The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has released the names of its senatorial and House of Representatives candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, signaling the commencement of full political mobilisation across the state.

The party announced the candidates in a statement issued in Ibadan by its State Organising Secretary, Mr. Stephen Olaniyi, following the completion of party primaries conducted across the state.

According to the statement, the candidates emerged through internal democratic processes and are expected to lead the party’s campaign for Senate and House of Representatives seats in the forthcoming elections.

For the Senate, Sarumi Aliyu Bolanle emerged as candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, while Gbadegeshin Victoria Omolara secured the ticket for Oyo Central Senatorial District.

The party also named Abdullahi Khadijah Iyabode as its senatorial candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District after the conclusion of primaries across the three districts.

The PDP further unveiled 14 candidates for the House of Representatives, including Mr. Samson Fatola for Ibadan South-West/Ibadan North-West and Mr. Idris Olanrewaju for Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba/Afijio Federal Constituency.

Others are Mr. Olusegun Akinloye for Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere, Mrs. Elizabeth Alao for Ido/Ibarapa East and Mr. Rasaki Haruna for Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency.

The list also includes Mr. Rotimi Ajumobi for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola, Mr. Adedotun Adebayo for Oluyole and Mr. Olusoji Olusegun for Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

Other candidates are Mr. Solomon Odeyemi for Egbeda/Ona-Ara, Mrs. Victoria Akinyemi for Akinyele/Lagelu and Mr. Abdul-Lateef Adeniran for Irepo/Olorunsogo/Orelope Federal Constituency.

Also nominated are Mrs. Ramota Azeez for Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West, Dr. (Mrs.) Adejoke Adekanmi Akinseye for Ibadan South-East/Ibadan North-East and Mrs. Ajoke Okanlawon for Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire Federal Constituency.

The party said the emergence of the candidates marks “a new phase of mobilisation” ahead of the 2027 general elections and urged members across the state to unite behind the candidates to secure victory at the polls.
