The result eliminated Jordan from the tournament and ended the Asian side’s hopes of reaching the knockout rounds in their debut appearance.
Algeria’s victory moved them level on points with Austria, keeping qualification hopes alive.
Earlier in the day, Argentina strengthened their position at the top of the group with a 2-0 win over Austria.
The South Americans now lead Group J with six points, while Austria and Algeria have three points apiece.
Algeria will face Austria in a decisive final group match on Saturday, while Jordan will wrap up their campaign against Argentina in Texas.
