The National commission for the coordination and control of the proliferation of small arms , ammunition and light weapons (NATCOM) has passed a vote of confidence on the Director General, Dr Baba Mohammed over his qualitative leadership.

Of the commission said all staff and members of NATCOM after critical assessment of his leadership capacity and his firm belief in due process and rule of law has no choice but to pass a vote of confidence on him to continue his good work as the Director General (DG) .

The communique stressed that Dr Baba Mohammed is a seasoned administrator, and a public servant of great repute” who flaunts impressive and unblemished track records throughout his career in the civil service.

It stated that having Dr Baba as the DG did not surprise various stakeholders who have followed his trajectory in service and his immense contributions to NATCOM.

“Dr Baba Mohammed is a firm believer of due process and a leader with a sound knowledge of the rule of law, having noticed the illegality contained in the operation of NATFORCE and consequential implications of such activities, he defended a bill before the 9th National Assembly seeking the establishment of a national commission for the proliferation of small arms, ammunition and light weapons bill 2020 (SB. 283) in line with ECOWAS convention.

“Dr. Baba Mohammed in his response appreciated the nation’s leadership at all levels as well as officers and men of the commission for believing and keeping faith in NATCOM,” the communique stated.
