The CLEEN Foundation, in collaboration with the Innocent Chukwuemeka Chukwuma Foundation, has concluded plans for the second annual memorial lecture honouring the legacy of Innocent Chukwuma.
Scheduled for Friday, April 12th, 2024, in Abuja, this year’s lecture will delve into the theme of “The Power of One: Dreams & Nightmares: Thoughts on Innocent Chukwuma,” emphasising the transformative potential of individual actions in realizing dreams and effecting positive change.
In a statement signed by the Executive Director of CLEEN Foundation, Mr Gad Peter, the event will feature renowned speaker, the Right Reverend Matthew Hassan Kukah, current Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sokoto. Bishop Kukah will draw from personal anecdotes and experiences to illustrate how individuals can harness their innate power to drive meaningful impact in society.
Innocent Chukwuma, a visionary leader and staunch advocate for justice and human rights, continues to inspire generations with his unwavering commitment to social justice and the empowerment of marginalised communities. Despite facing numerous challenges, Chukwuma’s dedication to humanity remained steadfast until his untimely passing, leaving behind a profound legacy of activism and intellectualism.
The theme of this year’s memorial lecture underscores the importance of individual agency in shaping the collective trajectory of society. Through thought-provoking discussions and reflections on Chukwuma’s life and work, attendees will be encouraged to recommit themselves to the pursuit of social justice and human rights advocacy.
