The Hope Alive Initiative (HAI) has unveiled a multi-platform grassroots campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 presidential election, saying the administration’s reforms are laying the foundation for long-term development.
The organisation said the campaign, beginning August 19 in Abuja, will combine street mobilisation, SMS outreach, radio programming and digital communication to promote its message.
In a statement signed by its Director of Press and Communications, Ernest Omoarelojie, HAI said its support for Tinubu was based on what it described as the administration’s “bold reforms and initiatives.”
The group listed petroleum sector reforms, improved foreign exchange stability, increased revenue and foreign reserves, local government autonomy, security reforms, NELFUND, tax reforms and road projects among the initiatives it would highlight.
HAI said about 40 human mascots would be deployed across strategic locations in Abuja, including markets, motor parks, roundabouts and busy intersections, carrying messages backing Tinubu’s second-term bid.
The initiative will also introduce a city-wide SMS mobilisation campaign aimed at reaching residents directly as part of HAI’s broader grassroots strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.
Another component is a weekly Pidgin radio programme titled “Wetin Tinubu Don Do Sef,” which will explain government policies and programmes in simple language while featuring expert views and citizens’ experiences.
HAI will also release an original campaign jingle for radio and other platforms, drawing inspiration from memorable Nigerian political campaign songs to reinforce its 2027 messaging.
The organisation said the campaign would later expand to cover economic reforms, education, security, infrastructure and other government programmes, with emphasis on increasing public awareness.
“While these reforms have come with short-term challenges, we believe they are difficult but necessary steps towards a more sustainable, prosperous and better governed Nigeria,” HAI said.
