The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) is set to conduct a 3-day training for statutory Legislative Aides (LAs) and Personal Assistants (PAs) employed by the Commission to provide technical and administrative support services to lawmakers in the National Assembly.

The theme of the training, “Basic Lawmaking Processes and Procedures for Effective and Efficient Legislative Aides’ Performance”, is part of induction/orientation training at inception of each Legislative Assembly, and is intended to provide basic knowledge required by legislative Aides to function optimally.

According to a statement on Wednesday by Comrd Abdul Lauya, Spokesperson, NASSLAF, the training will take place simultaneously in three venues including Top Rank Hotels, Hotel De Bentley  & Green Minds Hotels, Utako, Abuja from today, Wednesday 7th – Friday 9th, December, 2022. 

The first cadre to benefit from the training series are Senior Legislative Aides (SLAs), in December, 2019.

Affected Aides are advised to check their names in the authentic list of participants and designated venues released by the Commission before proceeding.

Participants are required to come along with their original appointment letters as well as their official Identification Cards issued by the National Assembly.

Registration begins today, Wednesday 7th, from 9am – 4pm. No registration and participation after these stipulated hours.

A total of 938 Aides comprising 218 (LAs & PAs) from Senate, and 720 (LAs & PAs) from the House of Representatives are expected to participate in the training program.
