Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has formally received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following his victory in last Saturday’s governorship election.

The presentation was held on Tuesday at the INEC state headquarters in Ado-Ekiti.

Dr Bunmi Omoseyindemi, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ekiti State, presented the certificate on behalf of the INEC Chairman, Professor Joseph Amupitan.

He congratulated Oyebanji on his re-election and commended the peaceful conduct of the electoral process.

Omoseyindemi said the election reflected improved democratic practice and the commitment of stakeholders to credible polls.

He also urged political actors to sustain peaceful engagement and respect democratic norms.

The event attracted party leaders, government officials, traditional rulers and supporters of the governor.

In his remarks, Oyebanji thanked the people of Ekiti State for renewing his mandate.

He described the victory as a collective endorsement of democracy and development efforts in the state.

The governor said he had made history as the first in the state to secure back-to-back election victories at the polls.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his support and encouragement for democratic governance.

Oyebanji also thanked APC leaders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, security agencies and electoral officials for ensuring a peaceful process.

He pledged to remain committed to the trust placed in him and to deepen development across key sectors.

The governor assured that his administration would continue to focus on infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and job creation under its development agenda.
