The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the Court of Appeal judgment on the leadership dispute involving the Taminu Turaki group as a major boost for party stability ahead of the 2027 general election.
PDP governorship candidate in Abia State, Dr. Kelechi Anosike, gave the position during a visit to the party’s National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza in Abuja.
Anosike congratulated the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, saying the ruling had strengthened confidence in the party leadership.
He also commended the PDP leadership for conducting peaceful primaries across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory ahead of the 2027 polls.
According to him, the outcome of the primaries reflected growing internal stability and commitment to democratic processes within the opposition party.
Anosike urged aspirants who lost during the primaries to support successful candidates in the interest of party unity and electoral victory.
“The judgment is timely and decisive. It is now clear that there is no cause for concern over the leadership of our party,” he said.
Meanwhile, a former Commissioner for Projects Monitoring in Ebonyi State, Felix Ogbonna Igboke, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the PDP.
Igboke, a former Chairman of Onicha Local Government Area, accused some APC leaders in Ebonyi State of engaging in anti-party activities without disciplinary action.
“The APC chairman is playing anti-party politics, yet nothing is being done about it. The party structure has been hijacked for personal interests,” he alleged while announcing his defection.
