Simon Harry, Nigeria’s Statistician General of the Federation is dead
He died on Wednesday morning in Abuja.
When contacted, NBS spokesperson Ichedi Joel confirmed the news to journalists.
“Yes,” he answered when asked if Simon was really dead.
“As at the time I left office last night, he was still alive, but let me get to the office first,” he said in an interview with BusinessDay.
Harry was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in August 2021 to replace Yemi Kale as statistician-general of the federation to head the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
