The United States Mission in Nigeria has called on Nigerian travellers to fully comply with US immigration laws during their stay in the country.

It advised visa holders to remain only within the approved period, maintain valid documentation, and avoid actions that could affect future entry into the United States.

The advisory was shared in a post on the Mission’s official X handle on Tuesday.

It stated that respecting visa conditions is essential for protecting future travel, study, and work opportunities.

The Mission emphasized that compliance with immigration rules safeguards both individual prospects and the integrity of the visa system.

It warned that overstaying or violating visa terms could lead to restrictions on future applications.

Nigerians travelling for education, business, or tourism were encouraged to strictly observe all conditions attached to their visas.

The Embassy further noted that travellers must ensure they depart the United States within their authorised period of stay.

It explained that adherence to immigration regulations helps maintain trust in the visa process and supports legitimate travel.

The Mission added that respecting the rules benefits both travellers and broader US-Nigeria relations while ensuring continued access for qualified applicants.
