In a ceremony that underscores Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening its national security architecture, the Institute of Security and Forensic Studies Nigeria (ISFSN) has inducted over 600 new fellows drawn from across Nigeria and other African countries.

The recent event, held in Abuja, was graced by dignitaries, security professionals, and media representatives, who were commended for their continued support.

Speaking at the induction ceremony, Director General of Security and Forensic Studies Nigeria and National Chairman of the Advanced Policy and Rehabilitation Centre of Nigeria,Dr. Okocha Morgan Meshack, expressed immense joy at the successful graduation of the latest cohort of professionals.

He revealed that the institute has graduated over 5,000 fellows since inception and emphasized the importance of continuous training, professionalism, and intelligence-led approaches in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.

Dr. Meshack noted that forensic science is a critical tool in modern investigation and criminal justice administration.

According to him, forensic tools and methods help simplify investigations and remove bottlenecks that have historically delayed justice delivery.

He highlighted that evidence based investigation practices enhance the effectiveness of prosecution and reduce judicial lapses.

He called on the inductees to remain proactive in intelligence analysis, embrace continuous learning, and uphold global standards in forensic and security practices.

Also, the National President of the Advanced Peace and Reconciliation Centre of Nigeria (APRCN), Amb. Itumo Onyinyechi Priscilla, delivered a passionate address to mark World National Peace Day.

She reiterated the importance of peace, not merely as the absence of conflict, but as the presence of justice, understanding, and compassion.

She urged all Nigerians to become agents of peace and unity, noting that every act of kindness and mutual respect contributes to global tranquility. While acknowledging the prevailing regional and national conflicts, she called for collective courage and persistent effort towards building a peaceful Nigeria where all voices are heard, and no one lives in fear or oppression.

Among the inductees was Senator Ireogbu, Chief Executive Officer, CANAG Communications, who stressed the critical need for improved border security in Nigeria.

He pointed out that many of the nation’s security challenges particularly in the North-East and North-West, stem from porous borders that allow the free flow of arms, contraband, and insurgents.

He explained that his induction into the institute was not just an accolade, but a renewed mandate to serve Nigeria through expertise in security and forensic analysis.

Senator Ireogbu emphasized the connection between forensic screening and law enforcement, stating that trained professionals are able to detect threats hidden in plain sight. He called for more capacity building and encouraged other professionals to join the institute in strengthening the country’s intelligence and enforcement chain.

He lauded the ISFSN for fostering a new generation of security professionals and urged them to stay the course in their mission to support national and continental peace and development.
