The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has visited Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, where he commissioned key infrastructure and reinforced the operational presence of the Nigerian Air Force in the Niger Delta.

During the visit, Aneke engaged personnel of Headquarters Mobility Command and other collocated units as part of his ongoing operational tour to assess readiness and improve welfare.

He paid a courtesy call on Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, stressing the need for sustained civil–military cooperation to safeguard lives and critical national assets in the region.

Diri commended the Air Force for protecting oil and gas infrastructure and pledged continued partnership to promote security and development in the state.

At the Headquarters of Operation DELTA SAFE, the Commander, Rear Admiral OBF Oladipo, praised the NAF for its intelligence, surveillance and air mobility support to joint operations.

Aneke also paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Erujakpo, describing him as a dedicated public servant.

A major highlight was the inauguration of the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Administrative Management in Yenagoa, alongside the commissioning of the residence of the Air Officer Commanding Mobility Command and the groundbreaking for additional projects.

Addressing officers and airmen, the CAS lauded their professionalism, describing Mobility Command as the logistical engine room of the Air Force and urging personnel to sustain high standards of discipline and operational readiness.
