The Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, has urged troops of Operation HADIN KAI to sustain vigilance and maintain an aggressive posture against terrorists operating in the North-East.
Shaibu gave the charge during an operational assessment visit to the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI in Maiduguri.
He said the visit was aimed at assessing the security situation in the theatre, reviewing operational effectiveness and strengthening collaboration with relevant security stakeholders.
Addressing troops, the Army Chief commended their gallantry, resilience and sacrifice in protecting civilians and degrading terrorist groups across the region.
He urged the personnel to remain vigilant, maintain situational awareness and sustain the operational momentum already achieved.
Shaibu also stressed the need for effective coordination among units, improved intelligence gathering and a stronger operational posture to consolidate recent gains.
According to him, troops must continue to take the fight to terrorists, noting that the era of remaining in defensive positions is over.
Earlier, the Theatre Commander, Abdulsalam Abubakar, briefed the Army Chief on recent operations and assured him of the troops’ continued professionalism and commitment to restoring lasting peace in the North-East.
