President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding infrastructure across the Federal Capital Territory, declaring that “all satellite towns must be lifted up to the city.” The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, represented the President at the flag-off of the Tunga Madaki–Abuja-Kaduna Expressway access road.

Abbas said the project extends the Bill Clinton Drive–Tunga Madaki Road commissioned a few weeks ago as part of activities marking the administration’s third anniversary.

He said the road would improve connectivity, boost commerce and ease movement for residents and businesses along the corridor.

According to him, “What began as one road is now growing into a network, and that is how development takes root.”

He added that the project reflects the government’s resolve to give satellite communities the same infrastructure attention as the city centre.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike said the road was the 24th project inaugurated or flagged off under the anniversary programme, attributing the achievement to President Tinubu’s support and the backing of the National Assembly.

Wike said the extension to the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway followed requests by community leaders and the Area Council after the completion of the first phase.

He noted that the President had directed the FCT Administration to extend development to every Area Council and satellite town across the territory.

The minister assured residents that more road projects would be delivered to improve connectivity and open up more communities for development.

He thanked President Tinubu, the National Assembly, CCECC and other stakeholders for supporting the project, expressing confidence that the road would stimulate economic activities in the area.
