President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding infrastructure development across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with a focus on improving satellite towns.
The President, represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, stated this during the flag-off of the Tunga Madaki–Abuja-Kaduna Expressway access road project.
Abbas said the project builds on the recently commissioned Bill Clinton Drive–Tunga Madaki Road and is part of efforts to create a wider road network that connects communities within the FCT.
He noted that the project would enhance movement, improve connectivity and support commercial activities along the corridor.
The Speaker said the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to ensuring that satellite towns receive similar infrastructure attention as the city centre.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike described the project as the 24th road initiative either commissioned or flagged off under the administration’s third anniversary projects.
Wike attributed the progress to President Tinubu’s support and the cooperation of the National Assembly, adding that the road extension followed requests from community leaders and the Area Council.
He said the President had directed the FCT Administration to extend development projects to all Area Councils and satellite communities across the territory.
The Minister assured residents that more road projects would be delivered to improve accessibility and open up communities for greater economic opportunities.
He commended President Tinubu, the National Assembly, CCECC and other stakeholders for their support, expressing confidence that the project would enhance development and economic activities in the area.
