The Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Maj-Gen Ibrahim Sallau Ali announced that the MNJTF is actively enhancing its surveillance capabilities to achieve its mandate.
He disclosed this during the graduation ceremony of the second batch training of drone pilots for troops in Sector 1, which took place in N’djamena on Friday 20 October 2023.
The graduation ceremony also featured the presentation of the donation of two long-range drones and a vehicle by the European Union through the Stablac Project of COGINTA Non-governmental Organization.
Ali in a statement made available to Global Sentinel on Friday by the Military Public Information Officer of MNJTF in N’djamena- Chad, Lt-Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, expressed gratitude for the partnerships formed with the European Union, emphasising the importance of collaboration in advancing the objective of the MNJTF.
He reaffirms the dedication of the MNJTF to fulfill its mandate commending the collective effort of all sectors within the MNJTF to work together in enhancing regional security.
It could be recalled that a similar donation of two drones and a utility vehicle was presented to Sector 2 Chad in July this year.

The MNJTF has the mandate to create a safe and secure environment in the areas affected by activities of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups. Facilitate implementation of overall stabilisation programmes by Lake Chad Basin Commission member states and facilitate humanitarian operations.
