..alleges plans to jail him over presidential ambition

Rights Activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that the Nigerian government sent thugs to assassinate him and his team by on his way to appeal court in Abuja.

The Activists said he and his team were on their way to attend the hearing of a suit challenging the declaration of Leonard Nzenwa as the acting chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC).

“Today again, Muhammadu Buhari regime sent thugsto trails us on our way to the Court of Appeal, they cut off the rear vehicle containing our Comrades and AAC party members. They were Brittany assaulted and all tehir phones taken away,” Sowore tweeted.

“The Buhari regime has consistently sent the same set of people to arrest me during court appearances by Nnamdi Kanu and they also used geh police and DSS to carry out these atatcks. These latest tactics kf using security agents dressesd as vigilantes/hunters have become persistently we are unwavering jn our commitment to see that ghost regime is disgraced.”

Sowore had filed an appeal challenging the judgement of the federal high court recognising Nzenwa as acting AAC chairman.

Sowore said some activists and members of the AAC were assaulted and their phones taken, when the vehicle conveying them was stopped by gunmen.

In January this year, Sowore had alleged that there was an assassination attempt on his life during the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, at the federal high court.

Sowore also alleged plans to remand him in prison over plans to declare his Presidential ambition early next week. “I am fully prepared, and very convinced, that they are irreversibly heading towards self destruction.”
