President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said the Renewed Hope Agenda must be a reality Nigerians can “see, touch and feel,” reaffirming his administration’s commitment to infrastructure delivery. Senate President Godswill Akpabio stated this while representing the President at the commissioning of the Transit Way Interchange linking Abuja’s Central Business District and Wuse.

Akpabio said the interchange and its two strategic bridges would ease traffic, improve connectivity and create new commercial opportunities across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He said the President directed FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to restore the Abuja Master Plan through visible projects, adding, “Abuja is no longer a city of abandoned projects.”

The Senate President said contracts would continue to be funded, monitored, completed and commissioned, stressing that similar infrastructure projects would be replicated nationwide so that “no region is left behind.”

Speaking earlier, Wike said President Tinubu’s decision to remove the FCT Administration from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) had transformed project financing by allowing access to commercial bank loans backed by Internally Generated Revenue.

He described the policy as “the revolution initiated by Mr. President,” saying it had accelerated road construction and eliminated funding delays across the FCT.

The minister also commended Levant Construction Limited for completing the interchange after initially doubting the contractor’s ability to meet the deadline, describing the delivery as evidence of competence and commitment.

Wike assured residents that more road projects would be completed across Abuja, adding that the administration would continue strict supervision to guarantee quality and value for public funds.

In her vote of thanks, FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, said peace, security and good governance remain essential for infrastructure to deliver lasting benefits to residents.

She urged residents to protect public assets, saying the completed projects demonstrate the FCT Administration’s commitment to improving transportation, economic activities and the quality of life across the territory.
