The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has reinforced his commitment to a people-centred leadership approach following a direct engagement with frontline personnel during an operational visit to Bauchi.
During the visit, the Air Chief moved beyond routine briefings to interact closely with officers and airmen, sharing a meal with troops and conducting an on-the-spot assessment of their welfare, feeding arrangements, and living conditions.
The engagement, according to NAF sources, was aimed at obtaining firsthand insight into the challenges faced by personnel deployed in operational environments, while also boosting morale and strengthening trust within the ranks.
Aneke emphasised that the effectiveness of ongoing air operations is closely tied to the well-being of personnel, noting that a motivated and well-supported force remains critical to achieving mission success.
He reiterated that under his leadership, personnel welfare will continue to receive priority attention, particularly as the Nigerian Air Force sustains a high operational tempo in tackling security threats across the country.
The CAS further noted that direct interaction with troops provides valuable feedback necessary for improving operational efficiency and enhancing support systems across various commands.
The visit underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s ongoing efforts to balance operational demands with personnel welfare, as part of a broader strategy to maintain a professional, resilient, and mission-ready force.
