The Nigerian Air Force has destroyed several terrorist structures and logistics hubs in the Mandara Mountains area of Borno State during a recent air operation.
In a statement, the Air Force said the strikes were conducted on April 27 under Operation Hadin Kai, following credible intelligence supported by surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
According to the statement signed by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation focused on a known insurgent enclave at Guduf, located along the mountainous border between Nigeria and Cameroon.
The Air Force disclosed that its aircraft identified several structures and logistics hubs being used to support terrorist activities before executing a coordinated strike on the location.
It added that the targets were engaged with precision, resulting in the destruction of key infrastructure used by the insurgents.
Ejodame noted that the operation significantly weakened the operational capacity of the террорист groups and reinforced ongoing military efforts to restrict their movement and activities.
The Air Force also emphasized that the mission was carried out in line with established rules of engagement, with deliberate measures taken to safeguard civilians and the surrounding environment.
The Mandara Mountains have long served as a strategic hideout for insurgents due to the difficult terrain and proximity to international borders, but the military says it will continue sustained operations to support ground troops and restore peace in the North-East.
